I hold a first-class degree in Photography, through which I developed a strong visual sensibility and a cohesive tone across my work, using imagery to tell compelling stories. Since graduating, I have gained experience in a more commercial environment as an E-commerce Assistant, where I have deepened my understanding of consumer trends and patterns within the fashion industry. This experience has allowed me to combine my creative background with a strategic awareness of how visuals engage audiences in a market-driven context.
Understanding a brands visual identity
Original Magazine x Beyond Retro
I have a strong understanding of the importance of a brand’s aesthetic and ethos, and how to effectively translate this into a cohesive visual narrative. My process begins with thorough research and the creation of mood boards, leading into creative direction, photography, and editing. For this particular project, my role involved developing the mood boards, scouting suitable locations, photographing, and editing the final images.
Throughout the research and planning stages, I carefully considered the brand’s visual identity and target audience to ensure the outcome was both visually compelling and aligned with their story. Collaboration played a key part in this project, working closely with the editors, models, stylists, and the shop team required clear communication, adaptability, and a shared creative vision. I focused on maintaining a cohesive direction while ensuring everyone felt comfortable, valued, and inspired within the working environment, resulting in a successful and unified outcome.
Key Focuses for the Imagery
Highlighting the unique character of second-hand clothing by creating imagery with a vintage, nostalgic feel.
Enhancing texture and mood through the use of grain and vibrant colour tones.
Incorporating flash photography to achieve a snapshot, candid aesthetic that feels spontaneous and unfiltered.
Conveying a sense of authenticity and casualness, reflecting real moments and genuine interactions.
Showcasing everyday wear in familiar, everyday environments, celebrating the simplicity of daily life.
Capturing a cool, effortless street style that aligns with contemporary fashion sensibilities and individuality.
EDITORIAL WORK
In my personal projects, I enjoy creating my own concepts and developing them into compelling visual narratives that evoke emotion, provoke thought, or spark curiosity in the viewer. My work primarily focuses on fashion editorial photography that embodies a sense of warmth, romanticism, and intimacy, often exploring themes of belonging and nostalgia. Through this creative process, I’ve developed the ability to interpret briefs effectively while still putting my own unique stamp on my work. I have a strong eye for detail, which is reflected in every stage of my projects. From in depth research and planning through to post-production. Each step involves many creative and logistical decisions, such as selecting locations, models, stylists, and makeup artists. This requires clear communication, strong collaboration, and excellent organisational skills to bring each vision to life seamlessly.
PHOTOGRAPHER AT LONDON FASHION WEEK
Photographing London Fashion Week helped me build a sharp, versatile set of skills that go far beyond simply taking pictures. I learned to work quickly and confidently in fast-paced environments, adapting to constantly changing lighting and movement. Navigating crowded backstage areas and working respectfully with models, stylists, and other creatives strengthened my communication and collaboration skills. Most importantly, I refined my ability to tell a story through images in a different way. Rather than meticulously planning and capturing and editing my images to dictate a narrative I had to capture, not just the outfits, but the energy, personality, and atmosphere of each show at London fashion week.
Content Creation For Social Media
While attending London Fashion Week with Original Magazine, I was also responsible for capturing video content for TikTok and Instagram. This experience strengthened my ability to prioritise between shooting on my camera and my phone, and gave me a deeper understanding of what type of content performs best across different platforms. During my internship with original magazine I curated and managed social media content, creating engaging posts aligned to brand identity, while applying trend awareness to increase reach and engagement across platforms.
